What is UPPO?
The Unclaimed Property Professionals Organization (UPPO) is a membership-based nonprofit entity dedicated to advancing industry best practices for unclaimed property practitioners across a variety of professions.

What does UPPO do?
Our primary mission is to educate and share information among holders of unclaimed property and the companies that provide products and services to unclaimed property professionals.

Who are the people behind UPPO?
A team of executives with diverse unclaimed property backgrounds leads UPPO. UPPO members elect officers and board members, with terms that coincide with annual conference dates. Board members are not compensated for their positions.

Who are unclaimed property professionals?
Unclaimed property professionals are people with private-sector responsibility for reconciliation or compliance activities related to unclaimed property. Our members come from a broad range of industries, including (but not limited to) finance, insurance, retail, manufacturing, banking, utilities, and oil and gas.

Can state, county or municipal unclaimed property officers or contractors join UPPO?
No. We do not accept membership requests from public-sector employees or those representing state or governmental institutions, as UPPO is designed to aid private-sector entities only.

I’m interested in joining UPPO, but I’m not sure if I am eligible. Can you help?
Part of our membership application process includes an eligibility survey. Just click on the join link and follow the steps to determine whether UPPO is the right organization for you.

If I join UPPO, how will it benefit me and/or my company?
The benefits are extensive and include: govWATCH legislative alerts and policy briefings, unclaimed property discussionforums, career center, discounted registration fees for conferences and workshops, and exclusive members-only content and offers. Simply put, your UPPO membership will make you a smarter, better-connected unclaimed property practitioner. Join UPPO today!

Are UPPO memberships tax-deductible?
Your company may be able to deduct its UPPO membership dues. The IRS allows companies to deduct trade association membership fees and expenses as a business expense.

What networking opportunities are available for UPPO members?
In addition to our Annual Conference, UPPO hosts free, quarterly webinars to discuss hot topics and private, online forums. Check the calendar to see the upcoming events. We also offer opportunities for members to volunteer on UPPO committees

I want to refer a colleague to UPPO – do I get a discount on my dues if they become a member?
Thank you for spreading the word about UPPO. While we don’t have a membership incentive program in place currently, we may consider one in the future.

Can I search your website to find unclaimed property in my state?
