On Thursday, May 4, 2017, the Unclaimed Property Professionals Organization filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in the case of Office Depot v. Cook. The amicus brief supports the arguments of the plaintiffs, retailer Office Depot and its gift card management company, North American Card and Coupon Services.

At issue in the case is whether the state of Delaware's unclaimed property practices amount to unreasonable search and seizure, and violate the priority rules established in Texas v. New Jersey.

Read the amicus brief. UPPO will publish an analysis of the case and amicus brief on the UPPO blog on June 1.
